Maple Bourbon Chestnut Date Dip

So many cold weather tastes in this comforting dip.

Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 lb chestnuts
  • ¾ cup bourbon
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 5 sprigs fresh thyme
  • ½ lb pitted dates

Optional

  • 2 tbsp basalmic glaze
  • 2 tbsp hot honey
  • 2 tbsp bbq sauce
  • 2 tbsp sriracha

Instructions
 

  • Pulse main ingredients in a food processor, until slightly chunky. If you prefer a smooth dip, feel free to use a blender. Add any of the optional ingredients to taste.
  • Chill.
